One of the side effects is that it's a great way to burn off grease and grime from your grill grates!

Next time flip the GG's over and get sear marks.   the taste might be a little better

This is the basic recipe I cooked for those folks at the GA cookout a few years back.   

 I believe they liked it quit a bit.   Oh and had my famous beans to go along with it ;)

I'll have to respectfully disagree with you on that one. I'd rather cook on a flat top and get an all over sear versus cooking on a raised grid and only getting sear "marks".
