Hello from yet another Minnesotan.
« Reply #-1 on: November 04, 2016, 08:08:06 PM »
Been Lurking on several sites the last 6 months or so. Currently use a 1980 Weber gasser, a Kingsford charcoal grill and the other day when the special was running bought a Cook-Air. I'm going to purchase a MAK 2 Star come the New year so I've just been reading up on all these excellent cooks you guys do. I was originally introduced to smoking and bbqing when my Uncle opened the Outdoor Cooking Store in White Bear Lake. I always wanted one of the big Lyfe Tyme offsets he sold. Unfortunately they ended up closing the store so I never scored a good deal on one.
Anyway I'm in no way a great cook so you guys will be a huge help.
By the way I'm in Waconia.

Welcome from a MAK 2 Star owner from North Carolina.  There are a lot of pellet drivers here.  Lots of good resources for advice.

Welcome from middle Georgia.

Looking forward to following you as you transition to the MAK.   I'm beginning to think about adding a pelletizer, although I have been resistant since they were introduced here.  My gasser is probably in it's last season (after 6 years), so I may change over to pellets when I replace it.

B T W, there have been some mighty good cooks come from Minnesota.

My mistake Savannahsmoker. The Weber gasser is from 1985. I would post a pic if i knew how. I've had it since around 2002 or 2003. But my cousin had replaced the burner, grates and igniter in probably 1999. Its been outside the whole time since then and just in the last year the burner, grates are falling apart and the wire to the igniter broke a few months back. The only thing I've replaced since having it were the flavorizer bars.
