Christmas Ribs? Yep
« Reply #-1 on: December 08, 2016, 02:12:41 PM »
So it seems that we are forgoing a usual Christmas dinner this year. No ham but rather baby backs instead! My brother-in-law, Kevin, requested ribs. I am going to do an experiment and make something different. I most likely will do a test run this weekend so I don't end up using the family as guinea pigs. Last Christmas we bought my mother-in-law an electric smoker and she loves it. We are going to let her make some ribs and we'll bring some too. It'll be a friendly little "throwdown" of sorts :)

I am going to marinate my ribs in Redd's Apple Ale and then smoke as I normally do but I probably won't use my go to bbq sauce that I always use on ribs (and moinks). I may make something more "Christmasy" to go on them. Any ideas from the masses of a good sauce recipe?

My wife picked ours up at the Naval Air Station Commissary in Jacksonville. I couldn't find any locally. You might check with Target since their website says in stores only.

Since you're going to soak your ribs in Redds Apple Ale, there are many recipes online that use apple ale / cider in the sauce if you'd like to have that apple profile in the taste. Here's one for Double Apple Ribs...
