Hello from Ohio
« Reply #-1 on: January 05, 2017, 10:06:31 AM »
Greetings from Canton, the Pro Football Hall of Fame City. I've been an avid griller and smoker (meat and cigars!) for a number of years and have recently jumped into sous vide cooking as well. Love to make as many homemade foods as possible.

Looking forward to capturing the insight and experiences from the cooking pros on this site!!!

Welcome!
And as for "pros"...? Have not sen any here...ever. :D :D :D :D Look - our philosophy is that anyone can make better food at home than you can get in a restaurant or cooking competition - with a little practice and sharing of ideas/questions.

Sounds like a bold statement? Nope...Because YOU have a couple of huge advantages on your side:

1. This community. LOTS of experienced hands and centuries of experience on LTBBQ. Authors, competition judges, and MANY great cooks! But we all treat one another the same. Respect and humor ( that can step on that respect thing a little - but in good fun) and NO personal egos are allowed to interfere. We are all here just to have fun and exchange ideas. P.S. - RECIPES and PHOTS are the best way to convey those ideas. 8)

2. TIME. You can plan ahead for as many days or longer if needed - to make whatever you are preparing the best it can be.
Time is the most expensive resource - and most and most precious ingredient - that commercial kitchens and competition cooks do not ever have enough of to truly produce "BEST". They must met the demands of time as a cost factor in obtaining a prize - or making a profit. YOU have the luxury of different motives. ;)

BBQ is neither verb or noun. It is an experience.
