Rosle Can Opener
« Reply #-1 on: November 28, 2012, 06:16:37 PM »
If you haven’t seen this, or better yet used one, consider adding it to your Christmas Wish List.  My sister gave me one as an early Christmas present when she visited over Thanksgiving.  While a bit pricey, it does everything they claim.  Cuts the top off the can and leaves no sharp edges.  The top won't fall into the can.  Works on all size cans.  Check it out.

Hate to be negative, but I bought one of these about a year ago. Worked great - I loved it - everything it promised was true - for about 6 months... Then it quit working. It would cut / skip / cut... Then just gave up. I really like the idea of no sharp edges, and the hygienic aspects of that. But my old fashioned can opener (10+ years) is still working... I wish this was more durable, I don't even open that many cans!

Cheers,

David

I clicked on the LINK and went to the Williams/Sonoma site.
Read the reviews. I think they'll be helpful for is decision making.

You can do the same thing this one does by placing the blade of your typical manual can opener on the side not the top.
OIt will remove the top cleanly just under the lid.
