I can't explain the way my mind works so I won't even go down that path, lol. I woke up this morning wanting to make Sloppy Joes. I don't recall ever making these except for when I first got married I think we may have dumped a can of Manwich in a skillet of browned ground beef once. I do know that my wife wouldn't touch a Sloppy Joe even it were covered in 100 dollar bills
I came home from work early so I went by the store to pick up a few things. When I got home I took a pound of ground beef and made meat balls out of it and dusted with SPG and slapped'em on the Traeger to get a little smokalicious flavor on them. While that was rocking and rolling I took a small onion and a little bell pepper and some celery and slung'em on the flat top. After they got mostly soft, I plopped them in a pot that had some brown sugar, tomato sauce, worcestershire, ketchup, bbq sauce, a little cayenne, salt and pepper and mustard powder. I then crumbled the beef into the pot and simmered it about 20 minutes on the side burner. I haven't used that side burner in EONS but since I was already outside, why not?
Before we get to what you came here for (the pictures), let me get you in the mood with a little music
In case it doesn't start where I intend it to, go to about the 2:33 mark

You can find the recipe here :
Sloppy Joe, Sloppy Sloppy JoeI made it mostly this way except I subbed regular vinegar with balsamic, added cayenne and a tiny TINY pinch of ground cloves. I also added some bell pepper and of course smoked meat.
End result? It's a sloppy joe, still not my favorite thing but these were pretty tasty. Maybe I'll make some more in another 30 years or so
