Aw shucks  :(

Welcome to the no booze, minimum meat, and thin blood club.  At present I am 24/36ths (one dozen cardiac rehab sessions left) along the way to climbing out of some of it.  Coumadin prescription ends in April.  So far I've found the best defense is just being plain ornery.  Having ornery friends helps a lot, too.  Tomorrow I am adding your name to the prayer list of our local Prison Ministry -- powerful medicine because God pays close attention to those guys  ;D

Keep you chin up, your nose a little out of joint, and pinch of sarcasm handy.  You're in great company here Art -- we're all on your side.

Hub

...and with those words - we can define the inception date of the historic "Curmudgeons of 'Que Club".....I am in! :D ;D ;)

So sorry to hear about this Art.

Can they remedy the A-FIB with laser ablation?

Hang in there...

HEALTH UPDATE

Today was “doctor day”.  If something is supposed to happen, it is best if it happens in the doctor’s office.  I was in my cardiologist's when my A-Fib kicked-in.  I was given and EKG immediately.  Based on what the doctor saw on my EKG, he made some recommendations.  He changed the blood thinner I was put on in the hospital.  I have an echo-cardiogram scheduled in two weeks before I see him again.  After being on the new blood thinner for four weeks, he is going to schedule a visit to the hospital where I will get zapped with the paddles to bring my heart back to where it is supposed to be.

That’s all I know for now.  After the dust settles from all this, I will be setting up an appointment with a neurologist to see if we can find out about the mini-strokes I may have had recently.  One step at a time.   I’ll keep you posted.

Art

Mike, I don't know enough to ask any questions about laser ablations.  I have had RF ablations on nerves in my lower back and I have had a laser used to "help" break-up kidney stones, but nothing with my heart.

Art..I am surprised that they do it that way, by zapping you..I have had a svt, supra ventiricular tackacardia..very fast heart beat.  They stopped my heart by drugs, a low presser and it restarted by itself at a normal rhythm. An ablation is where they go in and zap the part of the heart that it happens at so that it does not happen again. Check into it.   .☆´¯`•.¸¸. ི♥ྀ.

Sorry to hear this.  I hope that they get you all lined out.  I just turned 50 and I have my share of medical issues.  I'm not enjoying getting older.
