Experimental Recipe - LOTS OF PICS -

The key word in experimental is mental, lol!

I spent a fair amount of time on this with just so-so results. Every first has its lessons to be learned. Nevertheless, here's today's cooking adventure :P

I have had this on my mind to try for a LONG time and finally set out to do it. Fried Ravioli stuffed with brisket and Monterey Jack cheese Here's how it went.

First I made some pasta

Next I took some leftover brisket and a small block of Monterey Jack that I shredded and plopped them into the Kitchenaid with the paddle attachment to make my filling for the rav.

Next, I made some sheets of pasta with the dough and hung them on a drying rack

Then I rolled out some ravs and made up a bbq rub seasoned breadcrumb mixture

Dipped each rav into an egg wash and coated with the breadcrumb mixture

Fry time!

Served up with some hodgepodge BBQ sauce

If I were to do these again, I'd thin out the mixture and and some queso blanco to the mix to aid in stuffing. Not a bad first effort considering I have not been able to find anyone else in my searches of the interwebs that has done this. That's what I love about cooking, no rules! Just learn as you go.

Those look real tasty. Out of curiosity how long did you fry them for?
I have made some before but used pulled pork and only boiled them. Think maybe I'm going to
have to try these.
