How to turn a $45.00 can of paint into a 5k+ remodel for the house !

Yep, we started with  " I want to paint the kitchen "  to now it's replacing the stove, the sink, the counter tops and a new backsplash and thats just the kitchen.   

If you have been to my house or seen some of my cooks you seen the purple walls and countertops  so all of that is on the way out.    Now it will be grey walls, larger sink, backsplash (both sides of kitchen) and new counter tops   OH BOY!

Now, the living room, dinning room are painted and about to start the back room (where the 125 gal aquarium in the wall is) and two bathrooms.   Just one bedroom and a bathroom  to go!!!   LOL ;(     

In other words NO NEW GRILLS for awhile

My wife just tells me what she wants and I'm expected to do it.  She doesn't care if I'm not a contractor.  And she expects good work too.  Inside or outside work.  Doesn't matter.

I blame it all on Chip and Joanna Gaines. Sherwin Williams owes her a HUGE cut of sales of Repose Gray! My wife has gone gray crazy, not only Repose (although it's in a few rooms in the house). We went from beige with a dark red accent wall (living room) and beige and red in the kitchen to all grays and whites. It HAS lightened the rooms, which was needed honestly.

It also helps small spaces look bigger. Our kitchen is on the small side.



I don't have a most recent picture of the kitchen, here's one right after painting, the wall plates are not even on yet. We have changed all of the cabinet hardware to oil rubbed bronze but you get the idea of how much better it looks being lighter.

All of my interior (except for the bathrooms) has new paint, but my kitchen is due for a complete remodel. Thank God we have all new appliances. Even so the cost will be huge. Every time V brings up the subject I try to divert the conversation. Don't know how much longer I can postpone the inevitable.

My wife started in our small master bath & she is adding a floor in the kids bath....from there I am not sure...losing the tub for a walk-in shower. We shall see where it ends.
