« Reply #-1 on: December 19, 2020, 08:23:18 PM »

Pot of Call style burgers for us here tonight with baked potatoes.

These burgers cooked quick tonight. The Keg was about 550 degrees.

Burger had toasted bun, grated sharp cheddar cheese, butter sated mushrooms, sliced onions, mayo and mustard.

Potato had butter, sour cream, mushrooms, green onions and fresh cracked pepper.

Once people know you make PoC burgers and they don't have to stand in line on Esplanade for hours, you'll be swamped with orders. Once I can either figure out the shipping or get to New Orleans, I'll be on it.

Being mostly a recluse hick. I have never heard of Port of Call burgers. Special ingredients, or cooking methods?

Port of Call is an old bar on the outskirts of the French Quarter that serves a fantastic burger as well as a few other  foods.    https://portofcallnola.com/index.php

Based on what I read, it's a thick burger (½ lb.) with a hard sear and medium in the middle with unmelted shredded cheese on top, sometimes with sautéed mushrooms.  According to their (frankly limited) menu, it's the only burger they offer.  I'm sure it's good and has one of those cult-like followings.  Meaning, I'm sure it's better than a McRib . . . .

Not a very high bar to set. ;) (IMHO)
