Celery Root Fries
« Reply #-1 on: July 13, 2013, 08:38:13 AM »
I was intrigued from a post on LTBBQ about using celery root for fries. Turns out that they are really tasty and really do resemble tater fries.

This is an ugly looking thing.

Cut off the ugly

Cut to fries add some extra virgin olive oil, season to your taste

Give them room and put into a 425 oven. 20 minutes later flip and keep an eye on them.

Plated.

They look great. I will have to give them a try sometime.

Thanks for posting.

I might have to try this RAD. Do they have a taste similar to fries? Probably would not fool the kids...

Actually, they were very similar. We were surprised. I never caught on to sweet potato as fries, never really cared for them but this was very close to the real thing.

Sweet taters make good fries like that and good on the grill/smoker

If I ever see one of those I will give this a shot.
