Gonna grind some burger on Saturday.....looking for any tips
« Reply #14 on: July 20, 2013, 06:45:46 PM »
Well.....nothing I do seems to go smoothly the first time ???

Cut the 22 pound chuck roll into pieces that would fit my grinder. Thought it was cold enough.....not quite.

Was going to add some beef suet to increase the fat content. Awful idea. Gummed up everything.
Read the instructions afterward....and guess what it said......NO BEEF SUET.

The best tip goes to Rick. The ice cube trick was a game changer. Basically works like an enema for the grinder ???

Next time: colder meat. Grind the meat and the fat separately. Gonna fine grind the fat and course grind the lean.....I think.

Now need to vac seal.
