I always use this.

However, I have seen a few guys bend over, light a match and the charcoal just lights spontaneously.

Smoke, check Lowes, they are starting to give away everything they have in inventory. I went back and got a 50 per cent credit on the Weber I just purchased because they started marking everything down to clear inventory. They had a char-griller egg imitation normally for $299 now selling for $169.00. Looked like a good product when I looked at it.

There is always the Yoder Abilene Backyard Smoker for $599.00.

Yup - use that on my 500X, chiminea, and hibachi! The light headed part is kinda fun! I do add a little cooking oil to help it along.

Last year (or the year before) this product was in pre-development and they were trying to get folks to back the company with investments - what do they call that plan (crowdfunding)?

Anyway, the inventor couldn't raise enough capital to bring it to market...guess they found some money.  I ALMOST invested in this product.

Not only good for starting the fire but helping to stoke it when you add more fuel or just make it a whole lot hotter.

I'll check out the alternate products, too.

They did get their Kickstarter funded on June 1st this summer. They had 854 backers and got $103,307
pledged of their $100,000 goal.

I haven't personally used one yet. I do like using my BernzOmatic JT850 Self-Igniting Outdoor Torch or my Looftlighter. Those seem to work pretty well for me. :)
