Tommy..there was a problem with the flame going out if you shut the lid while cooking..I fixed that by rolling up a small piece of tin foil and sticking it in the center of the front of the cooker. I do like to cook with the lid down too. This fixed the problem, because CB says it shouldn't be a problem. I was not the only one to have this happen tho. This lil machine is a workhorse. Turn it on and go like the srg or tbe or beesr. Meduim come up to 350º on my machine..high is almost 500º..have no idea about how low it will go, but I'm betting you figure that one out for me.
