Good looking group, well some of them. I wonder how much it is going to cost the turtle to ship that PBC home?

2P - In theory, Delta will take it for $50. We'll see what happens.

Those men "look" like they really know what they are talking about when it comes to BBQ food.

Jaxon: you need to put on some pounds if you want to "fit" right in.

Maybe next year?

So I called Delta again and the guy told me $200.  I checked UPS & USPS on line and they quoted similar prices.

I'm in my "airport hotel" so before calling dee to pick up his new PBC, I took it out to AGS and checked with the Delta people there.  We weighed the box and they decided that if I "cross-packed" my suitcase and the PBC so that neither weighed more than 52 pounds they'd take it as a second bag.  At $25 for one and $35 for the second, that's $60 total - even better than the $25 + $50 I originally expected.

Came back to the hotel and opened the (carefully packed) PBC and took out what I guessed would bring it down to about 50 pounds.  I guess we'll see what happens when I go back in the morning to fly out.  I'm sure none of the folks I talked to today will be working but I'm hoping whoever's there agrees with their instructions. Otherwise dee may still get the call.

Okay friends some more photos from the Gathering.  I need to add that this was my first Gathering
and indeed it will not be my last.  It is so relaxing and peaceful at Clarks Hill lake. Dee did an excellent
job of getting everything set up in advance.  Nothing beats the atmosphere, camaraderie and friendliness
of some great BBQ enthusiasts and cooks!

Peaceful, quiet and beautiful scenery.

I missed this photo somehow the other day of one of our sponsors.

Potato Latkes that tee was getting ready to devour.

The Turtle can't have just one phone like the rest of us! ;)

TentHunteR with his maple brined ham! Yum that was guuuuud!

tee's overnight brisket.

Putting the burnt ends in my Traeger Junior.

Done and devoured quickly!

My BBQ Pit Boys inspired Bacon Burger Dogs.

Friday Night Bonfire.

deestafford's Brunswick Stew Thursday night.

Thursday night group starting to arrive.

I made some bacon wrapped Conecuh brand sausages Thursday night with some wrapped in bacon.
Also threw on some kielbasa and non bacon wrapped Conecuh sausages.

Hope everyone enjoyed the photos and hope to see more of you at the Gathering next fall.

Mike, GREAT pictures. Thank you for sharing them. The next best thing to being there, although I will have to be there next year. Again, thank you!

I am sooooooo sad!

I decided that I shouldn't come this year.

I so wish I did not have to work to make a living.

I wish I could meet OLD Dave, and maybe others that did not attend last year that are going to be there.

I am blessed to have so many friends even if they are over the forum and I will have to wait to meet in person.

Life goes on!

Sylvia and I managed to sneak off work to go to the gathering!

Turtle inspired me... If he could travel all the way from Hawaii, I decided I could sneak off from work for a few hours and no one would be the wiser.

Well, two days later and I still have a job.

I am soooo happy I went and do not intend to ever again consider not going.

Friends, friends and more friends!

The best way to describe the occasion is is by pointing out that "there are always givers and there are takers", this is a gathering of "givers".

Good, "real" folk!

If you like to cook and you like people, this is a must do event!

Please consider coming next year and be blessed.

This year I came away with my Christmas Meal recipe: Tenthunters glazed ham.

He promised he would post his recipe, you must consider it!

Thanks to all my friends for a wonderful afternoon!
God bless you,
Albert
