Flying off the shelves
« Reply #-1 on: November 06, 2013, 12:49:32 PM »
A few months back I was able to get my local BBQ store to start carrying some of T's spices. I stopped in the store Sat morning to pick up some sauce and a guy I've never met or promoted to before came in and grabbed not one but TWO shakers of SUPER PIG. Guy says his kids won't let him make bacon for them without it. I guess a little networking can go a long way as I met Tim at a NEPAS Smokeout in Georgia and now we got SUPER PIG in Iowa.

Where about in Iowa? I have been to the store in Ankeny called Hawgeyes. Beats any place in Minnesota.

are you serious about that?  I go to this bbq store all the time.  they got webers, pellet grills, kamados and gassers.  great store.  i go to get my JH rubs.  they got a lot a very different types of rubs and sauces.  T, you got a business card or do you want my to give the owner (he comes out everytime i show up to learn about pellet grills) your email address?  how do you want me to handle that?   8)

I think selling a store on carrying his line of rubs would be simple...

1. Make a batch of Super Pig Bacon.

2. Bring a plate of the bacon, bottle of rub, and Tim's business card.

3. Place the plate, bottle, and card on the counter.

4. Smile and walk away.

He is right, in this part of Alabama Lowes and Home Depot would be the "BBQ" stores  :(

I don't know of any store like that here except for those selling BGE's and Komoto Joe's

The local BBQ store here in Cedar Rapids,Iowa is awesome.  "The Grill Works" carries everything from John Henrey's Rubs and injections to a whole wall dedicated to the Galena Spice company.  They are a big dealer for Green Mountain Grills, Kamodo's, and MHP gas grills.  Some other items they carry are Grill Grates, Bradley Pucks, 4 - 5 different brands of pellets, Dizzy Pig brand spices, "The Briner" brine buckets/brine packs, and two walls of grill/smoking gadgets, spices , and sauces.  I'm sure I'm missing stuff but I'm sure you get the picture, it's a grill guys candy store.  Every Saturday they have a pellet grill and a Kamodo going making samples for people stopping in.
