Gators in Bama?  Yep, my oldest son went looking for hunting land today and found this sitting and enjoying the day
He said it was between 8 to 10 feet long I told him not to worry about the length but worry about it's mate!!!!

That slow guy would be me!  However, I never go into the wild unarmed.  Better to go over-armed (if that is possible) and not need it than not to be armed at all, and need it!
