Feelin' better already!
« Reply #-1 on: December 18, 2013, 08:23:00 PM »
Hey Y'all, for the past several months I have been bothered with annoying abdominal pain, etc.  I went to the dr (NOT dr holly) and had to go thru a pile of tests...ct scans, upper and lower scopings, gall bladders sonogram, stuff like that.  After all the reports are in, the dr told me today that everything is clear except for a small stomach ulcer.  He thinks that will heal in a couple of months with Prilosec or reasonable facsimile thereof.   Where did that ulcer come from?  Well, back in April I agreed to sell my hearing aid business and retire by the end of the year.  Although it hasn't been a negative thing...there has been some stress over getting everything ready to go by year's end.  Well...reality has set in!

Tomorrow - Dec 19th is my last day of business.  I will be officially retired when I wake up on Friday.

Know what that means???   I can cook on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, or Saturday and it will be all the same.
Sunday is my day to rest and to be in church with my friends.

Now if I can just get hold of a good video camera and a smoker...

Thanks to y'all, I am prepared to get out there a cook some pretty food for fiends and neighbors.

I know y'all pretty well and I know y'all will be celebrating with me this weekend.  B T W, in 2 weeks I'll turn 66.

With all the good news..I AM feelin' better.  Praise the Lord!

Congratulations Jack! I have retired 3 times but can't seem to get the hang of it. I keep going back to work. At least now I am only working 20-22 hours a week and still don't have time to do anything it seems.

Congratulations on your retirement. It is easy to keep busy because you are now going to get the mother of all "honey do lists" as an assignment. At least when I can get out on the ranch, I can drive the tractor. This makes a lot of noise, raises dust and dirt and keeps the women away.

Glad that you got a handle on your problem and have easy solutions. Consider yourself lucky.

Stay in good health and enjoy your retirement.

Congratulations.  My only regret at having retired at 55 was that I didn't get to do it at 35 (but I'm lazier than most anyone so that may not apply to some folks). Enjoy making your own schedule and establishing your own priorities and that ulcer will be gone in no time.

Good for you, Jaxon!  I'm only about 3 years from that golden age as well - looking forward to it already, despite the long honey-do list
