Looks great to me! Have seen several people posting black eye peas for new year. Did not know it was a good luck thing. Pappy could use some of that in 2014.

I heard about it several years ago but never gave it any thought but after last year I know I could use some good luck. So? Why not? And besides, it was really good.

In the South is is a tradition to have black eyed peas and collard greens or turnip greens on New Years Day to insure a lucky and prosperous new year. Of course cornbread is served with them with sweet tea. If meat is served it is usually ham or pork chops. I have eaten peas and greens every New Years Day for as long as I can remember. I can't say I have been particularly lucky and am certainly not rich, but if I had not had them, just think of how much worse it could have been.

Looks great Rad!!! I cover both the German tradition of pork and kraut and the southern blackeyed peas for double good luck. I am just like Ken, Two Pockets though not too rich, money wise and not always the best of luck! Don
