Well, I started cooking for Christmas a day or two before, and I just stopped this week. Problem is, I think I took maybe three or four pics of everything I have cooked, so the unicorn landed at my house until I kicked his sorry butt out. I did however get him to skewer the elf on the shelf as he left, so I count that as a two-for-one fast break!
Here's a list of some of the goodies I made over the last couple of weeks:
(pause... deep breath)
-Sausage and cheese breakfast casserole
-Pigs in a blanket
-new sausage ball recipe (Thanks Hub! It was great!)
-two batches of beef jerky on a long forgotten, cheap dehydrator. Good find in a bag in the the storage closet!
-Ribeye steak dinner, with the aforementioned pics below.
-Day after Christmas country ham breakfast for the in-laws, outlaws, and a neighbor or two who smelled it & had to have a bite.
-A couple batches of Christmas cookies. If SWMBO asks for help with Christmas cooking, you do it, and that is paying it forward.
-a 20 lb. ham
-two pork butts
-one 12 lb. deep fried turkey
-Spaghetti & homemade meatballs
-lasagna
-homemade chicken & rice soup
-chili
and I'm sure I cooked a partridge in a pear tree while I was at it. I joked with my boss that I needed to come to work and get some rest. He is easily bribed with beef jerky and sausage balls, so he just laughed.
Hope everybody had as much fun cooking as I did over the holidays.
The only pics from the grub fest known as Christmas:
Jet engine ribeyes. Charcoal chimney, grate from the WSM, RO lump charcoal and some bakers wrapped in foil.
Ooh! That's hot! I'd say hot enough for searing for sure.
Makes pretty grill marks and cooks in a hurry.
and finally, two butts on the WSM for the whole fam Christmas dinner.
