A really good steak, getting there.

My goal for the steak is a seared crust , a rare interior , & a good smoked flavor!
For the potato, salty crisp skin & overcooked almost caramelized interior
Zero hour potato soiled & seasoned with Lawry's into oven @ 450F ( foiled)
Steak seasoned with salt , pepper & garlic , & sprayed with Pam. Into freezer for about 45 min.
Light charcoal fire ,add couple small wood chunks & put very chilled steak away from fire for 20-30 min.
Sear steak directly over fire for about 4 min / side , rest & serve!

... an even beautifuller cooked steak...

Apologies to dee - please pardon my illiterate friend. He meant to say "one of the most beautifulest" (and I agree).

That steak looks mighty good!!

Wish I could have see the potato(e)...caramelized interior doesn't come to my mind.  Is it a very well done potato or just cooked a different way? Our's usually come out of the foil fork tender and ready to mix with butter & sour cream, etc.

You sure have a way with that charcoal grill!!  I hope to get there one day.
