Stormy tonight - bought dinner to go
« Reply #-1 on: May 19, 2014, 08:46:56 PM »
Thunderstorms today and tonight. My poor doggy, Roscoe is terrified of thunder. He's an 80# mutt that does NOT cuddle. Unless there is a thunderstorm. Then he is the most cuddly dog you could ever meet... He doesn't like it when I laugh at him, but I can't help it.

Girls are at friend's houses and too stormy to fire up any of the grills. So, Karen decided we should have Schlotzsky's - the causal /chain food muffuletta sandwich. No, it's not a "real" muffuletta - but it is pretty darn good.

Supposed to have good weather the rest of the week - will be out on the grills.

Cheers,

D

Looks good to me!  I like thunder storms, even though the poodle does not.  Makes for a very cozy evening  ;)

I love Schlotzsky's David! It is a Texas based chain that when I was a teenager began to spring up all over Texas.  Love their  Jalapeño bread with the pastrami ....OMG... :P :P :P

So...if you give the pooch a piece of your sammich - will it distract him front he storm? It would me! ;) :D

Roscoe appreciates everyone's concern and suggested I just give him my sandwich... that's just the way he rolls...  ;D

Karen introduced me to Schlotzsky's 30 years ago - YIKES! Back when we just met / worked together, before it was an official date. We used to have lunch there at least once a week. After all this time, it is still our favorite place to go together. When we go to Bismarck to see my Dad, found out they have one as well - perfect!

I know this is not a "real" muffuletta, but dang, it IS good. something addictive about it.

BTW, Roscoe will do fine, he has learned how to "milk" a storm for treats... he may be a mutt, but he is no dummy!

Pappy - yeah he IS all bark (and a scary one - he's got a voice for radio...  ;)) but no bite... :) - looking forward to the nice weather!

Grand looking Sandwich David!! Our cat slept between us for the first two weeks after we moved but is now once again comfortable on his kitty tree house :) You know cat's normal temperature is 101.5° F , that makes for a real warm night :'(

My wife and I love Schlotzsky's Deli.  Problem is, there are none close to us.  Your sammie looks good.  Save me a bite.
