Newbie from Northern Ontario
« Reply #-1 on: June 29, 2014, 11:04:03 AM »
 Hi everyone.

Finally signed up after lurking in the background for a while. Love the companionship shown here.
I own a Big Easy, a modded Brinkman Vertical smoker, a modded bar fridge for cold smoking with Amazin smoker,
and a 4 burner gas barbeque. Next is Grill Grates, Pit Barrel Cooker and building an island bbq pit for all these.
Love the bbq recipes, but especially the other stuff like Smoker Pete's Claussen style pickles and Mrs Hickory's
pickled asparagus etc.
I want to be able to contribute back to this great site with some recipes of my own, plus I even know not to
cook any Unicorns.

Welcome Fred!

We want to keep LTBBQ focused not he things that you identified:
1. Friendly. Nothing matters more than this. I am sure we can all agree there are other places on the internet that are not quite like us, and that is good. It create variety. We just want to remain known as the "Friendliest Forum". ;D
2.Recipes - we nudge one another to post recipes all of the time. If it comes from another source that you know - please give credit where credit is due. If it is your version of a recipes of your origin, or family recipe - it is appropriate to say that as well.
3.Recruitment- We do not actually advertise LTBBQ. We rely on the experiences of our members to encourage them to recruit like-minded folks. We have no biases. If you can cook on a hot rock - or have a $100,000 trailer mounted BBQ rig - we are just excited that you want to share your successes - and mis-fires ;) So that we can all learn from one another. This reduces dramatically the time needed for a complete  new cook to get up to a level of confidence, thus a very positive and fun experience with vastly reduced frustration.

All we ask is that the language and tone be kept "family friendly"  and that YOU have FUN......

BBQ is neither verb or noun. It is an experience.

Welcome from Alabama, you will like it here. The only problem is that is highly addictive and your marriage and family life will suffer from spending too much time here.
