I'm glad I found this forum.  I have been doing a little smoking with an older pit I bought from a neighbor when I was living in Arlington, TX several years ago.  I finally got the bug to get a little more serious, so I just bought an Old Country Pecos pit.  I can't wait to try it out and am looking forward to getting some good advice on how to take advantage of the pit.

A little about myself:  I am a former Marine, was active for 11 years, 5 years enlisted, and 6 years commissioned officer.  My other hobbies include Ham Radio (I have an extra class license - WA7VKF) and I am an avid skeet and Cowboy Action shooter.

I have lived in Alabama for just shy of 5 years, and am planning on retiring here in the next few years.

Not much else to tell at this point, but I'll probably remember something else eventually. :D
