Title: Getting Ready for TDay
Post by: bbqchef on November 17, 2012, 01:25:37 PM
Made some whole berry spiced cranberry sauce for TDay... sorry for those north of the border.

Here's the very simple recipe...

Whole Berry Spiced Cranberry Sauce

1 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup water
1 (12-ounce) bag fresh cranberries, washed and picked over
1 tablespoon grated orange peel
1/4 teaspoon coarse kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice

Combine the water and sugar in a medium saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium-high heat. Stir to dissolve the sugar.
Add the remaining ingredients and cook until the berries burst, about eight to 10 minutes.
(This may be prepared up to one week ahead and held, covered and refrigerated.)

Great recipe I used this years ago (although I am not a fan of allspice and cut it back or omit.) Thanks for the reminder!
