Melancholy Chicken on Lake George
« Reply #-1 on: August 01, 2014, 10:34:32 PM »
Well it is our last night here vacationing on Lake George so we are a bit melancholy tonight. This is our eleventh year in a row of the same week in July,  with virtually the same people thru the years. It's a get all you can fit in kinda day. Dinner tonight was a spatchcocked chicken that was coated in EVOO and then rubbed generously with WOW, zip-locked and refrigerated 8 hours. It was cooked on a Weber with a pan of water in the center using the snake method charcoal burn and apple wood for extra  smoke. Of course happy hour showed up and the orange maple old fashioned's came out!
Dinner was served with grilled romaine salad  that had a dressing of EVOO, a bit of balsamic, and a teaspoon of WOW, and a dressed up box of stuffing. A nice homey meal to end a great week. I've got enough bourbon for one more old fashioned, so i'm grabbing my best girl, my trusty pooch, a good cigar and we are walking down by the lake!
Cheers everyone!

I'm sorry but my phone pics seem to have a mind of their own as to how they are laid out!

That looks great! You would be a "Melancholy Chicken" too if someone split you open and stuck you on a grill.
