Dehydrated Apple Plum Butter Chocolate Balls
« Reply #-1 on: September 27, 2014, 12:37:48 PM »
OK so I really goofed on making the fruit roll ups by not using wax paper and thought it would just peel right of the plastic liners they provided with my dehydrator. Wrong, once I tried to peel it off I realized that they where stuck on there real good. Hmmmm, now what. I filled my sink full of very hot water and took one at a time and held it under for about 30 seconds. This made the dehydrated apple butter soft and I was able to scrap it off. Now I had this big ball of apple butter, now what? Hmmm.....make some apple butter chocolate balls. Rolled them up into bite size balls and threw them in the freezer to firm back up. Got some sweet chocolate from the cupboard and melted it in the microwave. Rolled the balls around in the chocolate and sprinkled with some of those little cake sprinkle thingees and back into the freezer.

Stuck on the sheets

Isn't amazing how a mistake can turn out so good, those balls look scrumptious.   ;)
