Perky Jerky
« Reply #-1 on: October 05, 2014, 07:13:19 PM »
I used Lem's Original Jerky mix with Coffee instead of water for the Brine/Marinate. I used 3 pounds of Flat irons steaks for the meat. Turned out really good but really cant taste a difference with the coffee yet but it has not cooled. Jerky always taste different after cooling and being refrigerated overnight.

I hope the coffee flavor comes through.  It will give me another way to flavor some jerky around here.

I like your coffee jerky marinade idea.

I sometimes put coffee in chili and while you can't really detect a distinct coffee taste, it gives the chili a deeper, richer flavor.  I bet it does the same for your jerky.
