Three yardbirds and a turkey
« Reply #-1 on: January 19, 2016, 09:16:40 AM »
Well it's cold outside  ??? but the cook must go on! ;) ;)

I don't really like using can chicken for pot pies or any other dish but Kimmie does  ??? so I thought I'll cook up a mess of chickens and a turkey breast and freeze them for meals instead.   I asked in a thread the other day about crisping the skin cause I'm thinking of chopping it up and using it for pulled chicken sammies.   Old Dave and his better half Jan did a killer chicken slider and I was going to try and make one bird into my version of it.

So it's 19 outside at 8 A.M (cold as you know what) Not use to these temps here in the sunny South!  :o :o :o :o

I'll be using the Rec-Tec and an SRG for the cook, more pictures as I go!

Some visitors told me it actually got down to 17o here last night. It was definitely chilly.

Oh, they're Canadians and measure in Celsius. Sorry.

Here are the pictures of the "Birds" getting ready and going into the Rec-Tec.  When close to IT I'll transfer them to an SRG to finish

Picure 1.  I melted 4 sticks of butter and 4 Tbl of Mrs.Dash let them sit in the fridge for 2 days to meld the flavors.

#2  The turkey breast being injected with the butter (no reason to show the yardbirds)
#3  All four of them getting happy in the Rec-Tec .  Soon they will be riding the INFRARED highway to finish!

More pictures as I go!

Tommy - I really don't think those will keep very well in the freezer. Better pack them in some dry ice and ship them to me for testing. I'll be sure to return them if they check out okay. (No need to thank me - it's what friends do).
