Smoked Chicken Poutine
« Reply #-1 on: January 06, 2013, 07:51:43 PM »
You will all think I'm nut's but this is inspired by a regional Quebec dish. It is typically french fries, gravy and cheese curds.. and its fantastic. I had no curds so I had to improvise.
Gotta have some smoked meat on there...
Seasoned from the box I got from my pal Sparky..
Keep the beer from freeing.
Chicken smoked for an hour and bumped to 350 to finish. Chopped up.
On top of some crispy fries, a whole lot of cheese and some chicken gravy..
You will thank me once you try it!!

Brings back some old memories  ::)

When I was in college (yes, there were colleges back then) we had two favorite 3:00 AM Sunday morning haunts.  Sweaty Betty's (not its real name, that's just what everybody called the joint) served outstanding french fries and gravy.  Denco's (its real name) on Main St. served a "Darlin" -- elbow macaroni covered with chili, two fried eggs and cheese.  Either one served its purpose admirably.  I could not have survived without these panaceas.

Pile that over some toast, and you have a Springfield, IL classic...  (we call it a 'horseshoe')     ;)
