one down one more to go
« Reply #-1 on: December 22, 2013, 01:14:05 PM »
This one had been brined with the smokehouse Robs brine. It was a 18 lb bird and took almost 10 hours in the bradley. This really surprised me as I do have the duel element mod and it was mild out.
Most turkeys I have done only went between 6-7.5 hours. Oh well this one is done  :)

Did the brine contribute to the outstanding color? What kind of puck did you use for the smoke?

No I am thinking the rub I used did that. I always have a good supply of Jans rub on hand and it is my go to rub. I used hickory for the wood. I have stopped using bradley pucks a long time ago after I bought the A-MAZE-N-TUBE-SMOKER. Way cheaper and way better for cold smoking.  ;)
