Title: Braunschweiger Dip
Post by: Smokin Don on August 28, 2016, 09:37:06 PM
Aug 28 2016

I know there are several members who love Braunschweiger (Liverwurst) that might like this recipe. I have always just had it spread on saltine crackers and sometimes with a slice of onion too.

Our daughter in law and grandson were up to see her parents Saturday. After lunch today they stopped in and her Dad had made some Braunschweiger dip and sent a tub for me. I had to taste it right away and darn it was good. She said she though he said he mixed it with some cream cheese and used mayo to thin it and also had added some Worcestershire. I think there were some onions added too.

I searched for recipes and here is one I think would be close to what her Dad had made. It is one you could play with to get the taste you like. Her Dad’s is pictured below and the bloody Mary goes well with it!

Looks good Don especially with that bloody mary! You know, there is a recipe for braunschweiger dip inside most brands of the stuff. I have always thought to make it but just never have! ::)
