Title: Comfort Cook
Post by: Old Hickory on March 05, 2018, 07:24:46 PM
It has been cold and rainy here for the past few days, and The Mrs. and I were in the mood for some comfort food.

Did a SV with these pork loin chops, then a coat of flour and into the hot CI skillet to brown.

Had good fond on the bottom of the skillet, sooooo took the drippings from the SV, added to the skillet and made gravy.  Needed some cornbread to dip into the gravy.

Mrs. OH  made the green beans with chives and garlic mashed potatoes.

With a nice glass of wine and We felt a lot better.

That definitely rates as comforting.  Haven't had fried pork chops in forever ...

Looks mighty good, sir.
I'm 70 and I remember my Mama baking cornbread in CI like yours...very comforting.

Way too many carbs for me, but I sure do like looking at it!
