Title: Ordering pizza after water clean up
Post by: Keymaster on September 02, 2013, 08:48:36 PM
Was watching them brilliant folks on Storage wars when I got up to start the BBQ and noticed a 1/4" of water all over the kitchen floor and cascading into the carpet. After 2 hours of clean up and still sopping wet carpet we are ordering pizza, the faucet broke a internal line and hopefully home depot will replace it tomorrow as I paid $699 for this faucet back in 2006 when times were still good. Kohler has a lifetime warranty. Hard to warsh dishes with no faucet in the sink...

I'll take a slice from either side...  ;)
I feel for you - water is one of the worst things to happen to a house. I hope HD will help you out. Someday, when this is just a memory, ask me about my first trip to Australia...  ??? ??? ???

Pizza looks good but I'd skip the pineapple! Sorry about the water mess. I have a Kholer that was leaking some around the top of the barrel and was getting hard to swing. I called them and after hearing my story he said I'll just send a whole new faucet if that will work. I was happy, it is about 4 yrs. old and after I got the new faucet it stopped leaking and swings ok so I have a new replacement when needed. Don

Thanks guys, The wife tried to take the Kohler back to Home depot and no dice so she purchased a Moen since we needed one right away. You see the one hole mount system in the counter there is not a whole bunch of cheap options. I installed it the next day so we have water to clean dishes. Carpet is almost dry :) I called Kohler and they are sending the hose that blew up inside the faucet. The new faucet was $189 after the store managers $25 discount cause he felt bad for the wife :)

About the same thing happened to a friend of mine a month ago. He and his wife went on vatcation and came back to a flooded house. A piece of plumbing failed. The home has a basement and part of the floor was in the basement! They are currently living in a hotel. Lets just say it WAS a very nice house. Just bad luck.
