I have to admit that I do 95% of the cooking in my house. When my wife decides she wants to cook something.....I hover around the kitchen looking annoyed. Being judge mental and mostly a jerk
She does most things the opposite of me, uses the wrong knife or tool, and generally takes twice as long to do things then I do. And excessive dirty dishes. She measures everything......so annoying.
I am Pappy and I am a terrible kitchen sharer.....
I feel better now ;D

OMG....I feel so much better now that someone else admitted it first!!!
Hi!
My name is T...and I am a kitchen control freak..... :D :D :D
-
My name is David and I am a rotten kitchen sharer too.
-
My wife is the boss in the kitchen. When I cook, it is with her permission. Outside is my territory, though when i am doing an outdoor cook I do take over the kitchen for prep, rest etc. She does not share the kitchen well. It is either hers or mine. She will help me when I need it, but not cook at the same time. She will not even allow me to help her.

I see that these women have you guys trained..LOL. In their own ways..the rest is just control freaks..LOL. This coming from a woman that's hubby can only fry an egg and make toast. Pam .☆´¯`•.¸¸. ི♥ྀ

I own my own kitchen and occasionally my wife lets me use it.

Pappy, you are me.....or I am you! Now confusion enters the picture. My dearest is a very good baker. You know, follow ALL the rules, measure twice pour once. Me, I follow only rules that I think I should follow, seldom measure anything, and always think that when she cooks, she's going to lop a finger off. Truth is......when I leave her alone, she, ahem, WE are better off. So I go have a FT or three. 8)

I am with you all.
I NEED to get my wife back to work and our lives back to normal. We do not share very well, well at least I don't.
-
My wife is an excellent baker and it is her kitchen when she is in the mood for baking! Other than
that it is my prep area cuz if I don't grill it or smoke it then it would be sammies! I used to believe that
I did a good job in cleaning up the mess I make.. BUT no I "surface" clean as she calls it, so I just tell
her I am done now and let her have the kitchen back so she clean it as she pleases! 8) ;D

It's my kitchen!!

Yes dear, I'll go clean it up now.
-
As long as I got a spot in the fridge for my beer, I don't care about the kitchen and she can have it.........
-
ya I hang around when she cooks and bug her. But she cleans up after my mess so I am a happy camper. She can use the wrong knife or tool.
-
my kitchen!
-
Deb,
We knew that!!

It's her kitchen and I get to use it if I clean up after myself. My meat slicer, stuffer, Grinder all reside in the garage :-\
-
We share the kitchen although my wife usually just does the baking.

What a bunch of namby-pamby wimps and whiners! I own the whole house and she does what I say. All the time.
Not.

My info says that the Mrs. Turtle has a great recipe for turtle soup and turtle steaks.....and she probably shows it to you when you get out of line.... ;) ;D

I have two rooms in the home - the wine cellar, and the garage - everything else belongs to the missus... period
In the kitchen, I am typically the sous chef, but outside with the smokers and SRG, she does not touch

My wife has a couple of plaques in the kitchen:
"I only have a kitchen because it came with he house."
"My next house will only have vending machines."
I wanted to buy a Viking stove / oven - my wife wanted a microwave... I lost...
-
i make my oatmeal and toast in the morning in the kitchen. that's it. my wife rules in the kitchen. she can take stuff out of the frig and make a feast. before I asked my wife out on our 1st date over 31 years ago I asked her if she cooked? she said yes. she is 1/2 irish + 1/2 Sicilian. she can cook. she makes a outstanding lemon meringue pie. and stews. oh my. I live to eat. I married up. the outside is mine. all mine. I don't share my bbq"s. any of them. if my kids want to bbq I just buy them their own. 8)

I like being in the kitchen with my wife although I not sure she likes being in the kitchen with me. Still, I guess that means we share.
-
I think I am a moderately good kitchen sharer (wife's opinion might differ). However, I will NEVER share the TV remote ;D

I do 90% of the cooking and she is happy with that, She takes care of the clean up.. good deal in my books.
-
I am like Pappy and SW, I own the kitchen and do about all the cooking. When I am cooking I don't want anyone else in my kitchen! When it's my wife's turn we eat out or carry ins. She is now getting back to doing the clean up after her knee surgery, thank goodness! Don

I too am not good at sharing the kitchen. When I'm cooking it's my kitchen. But when she's cooking I am bad about "explaining" what she's doing wrong, until I notice that the pan she's using is made of sturdy, heavy cast iron! ???
So now when she's cooking I am relegated to chopping veggies and such... in the dining room. :P

What's sharin'? Dee
-
I wouldn't say I own the kitchen, after all it does have a microwave and a Keurig. The cooking on the other hand is 85%-90% me.
-
As long as I got a spot in the fridge for my beer, I don't care about the kitchen and she can have it.........
:D :D :D That's what Kimmie would say! :D

I generally do most of the cooking indoors or outdoors in our family. She surprises me by cooking up some very tasty dishes when she is pressed to do so. Her stuffed meat loaf dish is extraordinary. And, she really knows her wines.
However, my wife is a clean freak. Our homes have always looked brand new because she is very meticulous. We never had any trouble selling our homes as they have been spotless.
This is probably consistent with most of the folks on this forum.
