Post by: smoker pete on November 11, 2013, 11:37:50 AM
As a Vietnam veteran this story caught my eye today.  It's awesome to see what the Lancaster, California youth and community are doing for an Iraq veteran :)  ... Here's the link to this inspiring story  Calif Town (http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/11/11/calif-town-raises-money-to-build-new-home-for-iraq-vet/)

As a resident of Lancaster Mike, (muebe), you must be proud of your community ...

That's a great story, Really good to see the youth and community helping those who fought for our country and paid the price.

Yes this does make me very proud!

Our community has a lot of active military residents and former working in the private sector. Boeing, Lockeed, and Edward's AFB are here. So there is strong support here for our military folks :)

What an outstanding project these kids took on! Everyone in that town and the US should be proud of
what they have accomplished! Too many times we hear of all the negativism directed towards our youth which
seems to be "big" news.  To me this is what I believe big news should be.

That's a very heartwarming story. And what a group of dedicated and selfless young adults. Good for them!

Unfortunately my VFW post just sold the building...

Tried to fight against it but I was in the minority.
