This is the first time I've enjoyed Pappy's Special Reserve - perfect after dinner whiskey

A perfect way to relax, I love the Kentucky bourbon for sipping straight. I find that I prefer the 8 year old 80 proof for sippin or maybe it's just I cam handle a few more shots of it! Don

We don't get much bourbon up here in Ontario, at least any of the good stuff. I never really liked the taste of it any time I tried it. Jack Daniels is another I could never get used to although I practised alot of times in my younger days.

Enjoy the drink PZ .  ;)

Regular Jack Daniels goes down rough IMHO. But Gentlemen Jack is really good ;)

Nothing like a quality aged Straight Whisky or Scotch for sipping on :)

Here in Idaho we have a lottery of sorts - got our name on the list last Thanksgiving, but didn't luck out.  The nice chap at the liquor store called us yesterday and told us that he could not contact one person that did receive a bottle, so he remembered us - went there within 15 minutes and purchased that bnottle.  What a lucky day for us.

The whiskey is good, and different than most bourbon I've tried. I'm not that good at describing wine and liquor other than "it tastes good", but it is kind of spicy half way through the palate, with hints of charcoal, cinnamon, a bit of coffee and the honey-like sweetness of Dewars.

Thanks - we are thoroughly enjoying it.  We'd have bought out the place, but sadly there was only the one person that did not claim their bottle  :'(

A perfect way to relax, I love the Kentucky bourbon for sipping straight.

I whole-heartedly agree with bourbon for sipping straight for a relaxing drink.

Once family and friends found out my passion for bourbon it became the norm for presents.

Current sampling the following presents and with ever sip I thank the gift giver. :)

I am late to this thread and new to the forum.  I never had Pappy or Elmer T.  I am picking up a bottle of Stagg Jr.. this week.
I do enjoy a fine KY Bourbon, but mainly enjoy the Irish blends (Jameson or Powers).  I also like the Canadian blends (ever had a Collingwood?  it is amazingly smooth).  In response to Jack Daniels - Jack's Single Barrel is very good.

Another great one is Beam's top of the line "Bookers"....each bottle is tested and they run close to 130 proof so a sipping whiskey for sure....I have always been a devoted scotch drinker but worked at Ft. Knox for some time and I really got into the bourbons and did the bourbon trail as well as visiting several other distilleries.

My American whiskeys - Bookers Small Batch is amazing.  Bakers is extremely good.  The rest are all amazing and meet my various moods!  As you can tell I love the brown liquor.  I also have a variety of Irish and Canadian blends.
