In honor of Veteran's Day

Some years ago, I attended my son's military graduation and photographed this quote posted on the wall in a humble way, so you had to actually notice it among all the other displays.  I believe it embodies the sentiments of all the men and women that serve, and have served this fine country.  To all the military veterans, I am honored by what you do, and what you have done for the American people and our way of life.

There is so much in that quote.  It should be the subjects from every pulpit in the country. 

Your son knows a bond among warriors that only those who have walked in his shoes and those of the long tradition which he defends can ever know.

Today should be one without even the inference of any politics. Today is for the veteran - who ,whether he agreed or not - with the politics at issue, saw his duty and performed it.
