Enough Turkey Already!
« Reply #-1 on: November 30, 2014, 11:11:14 AM »
Now don't get me wrong. I love turkey. And Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. But....after several turkey meals it's time for something else. What then?  Italian that's what!  Alright then, we're having beef tortellini with a red wine marinara sauce, garlic toast, a nice garden salad, and plenty of pinot noir to wash it all down!  Grab a plate...let's eat!

After cooking 3 turkeys for 3 different family dinners...I have about 12 lbs. of turkey meat....I will reside in poultry purgatory ( not the Catholic one - I hope to live thru this one  ;) ??? )  for a while.....

Looks great.  As for turkey, I have one more in the fridge.  I was thinking about buying one more "last one" today.

SB, after Italian for dinner last night, I'm ready to climb back up on the horse's back or in this instance, the turkey's back!  Pass me a drumstick!  :D

I posted the sauce recipe in the Rubs, Mops, Sauces, and Marinades section.

Hahaha!  I stopped and grabbed another 13.5 lb bird today while I was out.  The bin was almost empty, so that might actually be the last last one.  :D  I figured that since I planned on doing the last one on the stick burner I might as well do two since it can hold that and plenty more.  I'll probably make a few freezer bags for myself.
