Weber and the VORTEX
« Reply #-1 on: January 02, 2015, 11:32:12 AM »
The weather was great on New Year's Day so I wanted to cook some ribs to gnaw on during the bowl games.
I Used the VORTEX as a way to manage the charcoal for the snake method.  AND check out the rib rack from Technique - very nice!
After removing from foil, I sprayed 'em with Dr Pepper and let 'em sit (did that twice); then brushed on the juices left in the foil and let that sit (did that twice, too); then brushed on some sauce and let that sit.
The ribs turned out...maybe the pictures will, too.

Yes Ma'am...
I think it shows that in the brochure included in the box, so it IS legal to use it that way.

I'll do some wings using the Vortex in the middle like a lava pot.  It works great for wings that way.  They cooked much faster to a more even "doneness" and crispier skin.  PLUS I can double my capacity when I use it.
