15 bean soup
« Reply #-1 on: May 07, 2015, 11:08:56 PM »
Wendy made this a while back and I told her when she makes it again I gotta get this on the forum.

Forgetting that it might snow tonight, we picked this up at Arrowhead Nursery. It's a Princeton Gold Maple. Got it planted today.

OK, back to the cookin:

Wendy picked this up at the market

She soaked em in water overnight so The Smoke will not be noisy the next day.
Do not pick on The Smoke rumor has it he has a short fuse and he is ugly....very ugly  :D :D

She tossed the beans in the crock pot and added more water along with sliced up onion and garlic

Later in the day, I grilled up some polska kielbasa on the stove

Sliced it up thin

The sliced sausage was added about an hour before it was finished. There was a little flavor pack included that we add about 30 minutes before finished.

Total cook time is around 7 hours and so well worth it.  Now we will just wait for the snow..........

Got Smoke?

The lady at the nursery says her young trees stay outside all the time so we should be in good shape. The maple doesn't grow up here on the mountain but some businesses downtown plant them and they do well. When the sun hits them they look like they are plugged into electricity. The get a orange hue in the Autumn and they do not lose there leaves in the winter.

No short fuse, just wanted to show off my beard. I messed up and tried to trim the darn thing the other day and now I have to start over  :'( :'(

Smoke,
The 15 bean soup sounds great.  I could hammer a bowl or two.

As to the beard, think it looks great.  I used to wear one back in the day, primarily when I was on submarines.  You look like you could be a model for the TBOC (Tactical Beard Operators Club).  With that beard, you would fit right in., at least in looks.

Smoke your looking like a lumberjack :D

Are you sure you didn't plant that tree so you can chop it down later? :P

And don't worry we have seen Tim's face so nothing scares us 8)

Looks like a good start to the soup!

Well, the weatherman got it right. We had lightning in the evening. Knocked a tree down and a transformer went. No power for 2 hours. Power back on before bed time.

Snowed more than they forecast. As you can tell, Wendy went out and knocked the snow off of her new tree  ;D ;D
