« Reply #-1 on: June 27, 2015, 10:31:36 PM »
Just the mention of Rib-Eyes gets my mouth waterin..........

Cold smoked with a blend of Hickory,Cherry,Apple and Maple

Seasoned the steaks with Stubbs Steak Rub, gave em a quick sear and set em off to the side

Wendy made a herbal butter blend to put on the steaks while they rested

Wendy also made some noodles with butter, garlic and Fagundes
Yeah, we eat good

Unbelievable, the best prices in this area are between 8-9 dollars a pound for choice. The beef prices have steadily increased here for the last 3 months or so here. This past month I have been trying to get a nice flank steak and they are averaging $9.00 per pound. I do like flank steak but not at those prices. 10 Lbs. packer briskets $50 --$60.  Pork prices have really been affordable so we have kept the freezer full with pork and chicken. I am just waiting for the Bird Flu epidemic in the midwest to drive poultry prices out of sight. Oh well! As long as someone is getting Rib Eyes at  $5.77 there is always hope.   :-\  :-\  :-\

Staters is usually 10.99 a lb "off-sale"  usually they will knock the rib-eyes down to 6.99 a lb for weekly sales. They really brought the thunder on this sale.

I got two rib-eye cowboy steaks tucked away also 5.77 a lb    2 inches thick and 2.5 lbs each for 20 bucks.....for two........ 8)
