Splitting Wood
« Reply #-1 on: May 05, 2016, 05:09:43 PM »
Smoke & BiggEr have inspired me :D
I have an old New Braunfels folded backyard offset.(firebox folded underneath to save space.)
Usually I cook with charcoal & use oak mini splits for seasoning.
Well when I'm just hanging I've changed to charcoal bed & wood mini splits for the rest of the fuel.
Been using a lot more wood!
In my neighborhood lots of limbs drop & I've taken to picking up some green wood sticks from the curb.
For the trash to pick up must be 4 ft length & less than 70 lbs PERFECT  8)
Cut the logs into 6 in length & split!
First pick is oak & pecan almost dry to cook with.
Second pic is oak & hackberry just split.
One of fun things is fresh split wood smells so great!
