Thanks to T and All for a Great Ride!
« Reply #-1 on: January 29, 2017, 01:41:27 PM »
Jan 22 2017

A heartfelt thanks to T square, the sponsors and all members! It was just 4 years ago this month I followed Hub here from another forum. I have really enjoyed it, having a lot of fun sharing and learning from others. At times it was a haven and a refuge for me.

I have been slowing down due to my COPD, no pity here it’s my own doing. I struggled through the holidays and did manage to cook some decent food for the family. Having then here was the main thing.
New Year’s Day we all ate pork and kraut with my wife’s drop noodles and mashed potatoes.

Jan 5th I came down with the stomach flu. I got so week went to the Dr. She said I was de-hydrated and needed liquids. She said there were 2 different strains of the stomach flu going around. I finally got it cleared up and after 4 days came down with it again, probably the 2nd strain. I am just now perking up and going to fix supper tonight.

I am going to slow down in my posts and my comments. If I do something I think is worth sharing I will try to post it. Highlights for me were getting to meet a lot of you in person. Thanks to all again.

Don,
Maureen and I enjoyed our time with you and Nance over cocktails.  Good time and a lot of "war stories".  Stay in touch when you can.

Your health and well-being is our first concern. However the selfish side of me wants to see your posts everyday. If we ever had to have a LTBBQ Hall of Fame section you would get my vote for first admission Don  :)

Thank you Don for being the kind of cook I always wanted to be (but I didn't quite make it )   8)

Don you are the best! Everyday I looked forward to your posts I wish I lived next door to you LOL. I was wondering where you have been & was worried. As others have said get well & take care of yourself first. I hope I get to meet you someday & agree on what was said if there was a hall of fame on here you would get my first vote. God Bless you! Although I am a noob here, I too will miss your posting but I REALLY do hope you get to feeling better and on days when you're up to it, that you'll drop in and say "Hi!".  Sharing food pics is just a bonus :)

Don it has been a pleasure and honor getting to know you both over the forum and in person!  Your posts have been a cornerstone of this community. I surely hope you are feeling well enough to make the gathering again this year.

Don, I don't know of anyone else's cooks I have "bookmarked" as much as yours.  I have enjoyed the pics and the details you have shared so that folks like me can take shot at some of your cooks.

I hope that by the time Spring rolls around, you'll be doing better.

Thanks for sharing so much with us...
