Now we are all a pretty smart bunch around here, but ya know, we get busy and Thanksgiving is next week. Do you have your turkey yet? Is it sitting in your freezer?
It is always the safe bet to thaw all meats in the refrigerator. But like I stated, we get busy................if it is too late too safely thaw go grab a fresh one at the market...better safe than sorry......
So this is from Butterball
Refrigerator Thawing
Thaw breast side up, in an unopened wrapper on a tray in the fridge (40 degrees F or below).
Allow at least 1 day of thawing for every 4 lbs.
Keep turkey in original wrapper and place on tray.
Use within 4 days after thawing.
So if you got a 24 lb Tom you got 6 days of refrigerator thawing so you better get it in the fridge.................right now
