We are so sorry to hear about your loss.

Your father is in a better place.

Now your parents can watch as your journey continues until you are all reunited again.

I lost both my parents within a short time period back in 2014 and I still have not recovered.

Stay strong brother.

I just lost my dad back in August, so I have a good idea of what you're feeling and going through.  My prayers for you and your family continue though this emotional and stressful period.  My dad and I were real close, and hardly a day that goes by that I don't see or hear something that we would've talked about.  I know that I won't get to have those conversations again.   But I also know that he's looking down.  One of my nieces just got married yesterday, and I know that he was there.

Thanks Y'all! I know I'm not the first to go through this. We've all had deaths of loved ones and one day we'll be the one that is missed. It's all part of life. I am trying to keep myself distracted enough to process what lies ahead. I have work to do, a house to clean out, handle his accounts all while dealing with 3 siblings (1 that doesn't care about any of it, one that doesn't care about anything but getting his paws on material things/money and then my angel of a sister whose help in all of this has been immeasurable. Once it all gets finalized, I'll have time to really reflect on it all and at that time, I can promise you, I'll be a total wreck.

My dad died suddenly when I was 25. Which is now 25 years ago. It's never easy, but I miss what could have been but I trust God's plan

I am just about done with my dad's affairs. Closing accounts, distributing death certifications, calling SSA and his Central States pension and stopping payments, calling and mailing all 3 credit bureaus, so forth and so on. It has been a mountain of stuff to go through. Today's task was to go into a Wells Fargo branch to secure his account from online access from someone other than myself (namely his ex-wife who I know has access). Her gravy train has left the station. I think SHE may be the most devastated by his death. She had been mooching off him for the last 5-6 years. I hate to sound so mean and angry but having her 4-runner repossessed made me a little happy and tingly inside, lol. She coerced him into buying that for her the middle of last year and he had been paying $667.00 a month on it AND paying the insurance!

I also had to undo a deal where he went THE VERY WEEK we discovered he needed in home hospice care and bought her a pull behind travel trailer/camper! I had the deal nullified and his $3000.00 deposit refunded. The check came in yesterday and now it's back in mine/his account. I find it shocking that people will leech off somebody, even when they know that the person is in bad shape. In this case, on his death bed. God sees it and will deal accordingly.

I have MUCH more I could tell but it would make Jerry Springer seem tame, lol.

I have to go back this weekend to get the remainder of his tools, provided the lock has not been broken off his outbuilding. I am sorry for airing this out on a public forum but my family network is way fractured and I appreciate you guys being the sounding board of sorts :)
