Confusing times....and even more confusing messages coming at us from all spectra of the body politic that we "chose" to serve the public....
But - I remain hopeful and fully believing that I know who is ultimately in charge...and he knows best. ( No...not the President....look much higher in authority
...)
And I concur Jack, there is more to this than meets the eye, or what we are being told at the pedestrian level where we all live. So, - I hope that the obvious backlash - which you see and feel growing among our population daily - is not an over-reaction which further decimates the public health. The second peak in viral outbreaks of this sort are well documented. It is my hope that we can all get back a new, modified normal - meaning just using a few cautions...but get back to work and living. WE asa a species, seem to either under or over react. We never want to default to a moderate, measured response to any threat. We usually "rebel" and over react. It is rue in politics, and other human behaviors.
Please - just consider your path forward as:
1. Does it makes sense? 2. Am I being reasonable in my approach to this? 3. AM I thinking about protecting ME first....or am I thinking about the comfort and protection of OTHERS from me?....It is a different paradigm which forces one to do self-examination of our motives, morals and ethics.
I am NOT saying that we should all stay shut in. And I am NOT staying we should all rush back to the same "normal" we had. It seems to be now incumbent upon us to develop a new and moderation driven normal. Humans typically have 2 speeds: Stop and Go. It is not our default to use any "gear" in between". But - I think that will need to be what we do..NOT because of the virus itself...but because it signals to others around you that you care and are respectful of their fears and concerns...founded or not.
The ancient Chinese proverb often seen in fortune cookies has come true: "May you live in interesting times".....
