A few thoughts...
« Reply #-1 on: April 22, 2020, 07:57:34 PM »
When the State tells you it's safe to go to Home Depot to buy a sponge but dangerous to go and buy a flower, it's not about your health.

When the State shuts down millions of private businesses but doesn’t lay off a single government employee, it's not about your health.

When the State prevents you from buying cucumber seeds because it's dangerous, but allows in person lottery ticket sales, it's not about your health.

When the State tells you it's dangerous to go golf alone, fish alone or be in a motor boat alone, but the Governor can get his stage make up done, and hair done for 5 TV appearances a week, it's not about your health.

When the state puts you IN a jail cell for walking in a park with your child because it’s too dangerous but let’s criminals OUT of jail cells for their health, it’s not about YOUR health!

When the state tells you it’s too dangerous to get treated by a doctor of chiropractic or physical therapy treatments yet deems a liquor store essential, it’s not about your health!

When the State lets you go to the grocery store or hardware store but is demanding mail-in voting, ITS NOT ABOUT YOUR HEALTH.

WAKE UP PEOPLE — If you think this is all about your health you’re mistaken! Please open your eyes!

Stop being led like blind sheep.

Jack - I pretty much agree with you except for the part about liquor stores. They're definitely essential! (At least they are in my world - without them open someone at my house would definitely have lost an eye by now. Not sayin' who, but I wouldn't look good with a patch)

Here in Canada we are in the same boat as you folks. You can like Mr. Trump or not but our guy has basically shut down canada, spending billions everyday. It is amazing how fast we went from what we were to looking like Venezuela.

100% agree Jaxon but my fear is it will be to late.

I agree that if you do a shutdown everything short of medical & food should have been shut down for a short time period to give the medical people a chance to treat people. With care we must get back to work now......with care. I have seen what can happen up here when out of control.

Confusing times....and even more confusing messages coming at us from all spectra of the body politic that we "chose" to serve the public.... ;) ::)

But - I remain hopeful and fully believing that I know who is ultimately in charge...and he knows best. ( No...not the President....look much higher in authority ;) ;D...)

And I concur Jack, there is more to this than meets the eye, or what we are being told at the pedestrian level where we all live. So,  - I hope that the obvious backlash - which you see and feel growing among our population daily - is not an over-reaction which further decimates the public health. The second peak in viral outbreaks of this sort are well documented. It is my hope that we can all get back a new, modified normal - meaning just using a few cautions...but get back to work and living. WE asa a species, seem to either under or over react. We never want to default to a moderate, measured response to any threat. We usually "rebel" and over react. It is rue in politics, and other human behaviors.

Please - just consider your path forward as:
1. Does it makes sense? 2. Am I being reasonable in my approach to this? 3. AM I thinking about protecting ME first....or am I thinking about the comfort and protection of OTHERS from me?....It is a different paradigm which forces one to do self-examination of our motives, morals and ethics.

I am NOT saying that we should all stay shut in. And I am NOT staying we should all rush back to the same "normal" we had. It seems to be now incumbent upon us to develop a new and moderation driven normal. Humans typically have 2 speeds: Stop and Go. It is not our default to use any "gear" in between". But - I think that will need to be what we do..NOT because of the virus itself...but because it signals to others around you that you care and are respectful of their fears and concerns...founded or not.

Some very reasonable thoughts Tee.

Unfortunately the virus has become politicized. Different agendas coming into play.
I personally believe that many (or most) want the virus, and how it is handled, to determine how our next election will play out.
If things drag out, people will demand a change. If things go well (relatively speaking) people will think our leadership handled it correctly.
Politicos have a vested interest in making the situation look better or worse.

As a businessman, I want the economy to open up sooner rather than later. We need to get back to work.
As a humanitarian, I want to make sure we don't cause more deaths by opening everything up too soon.
With everyone spinning it a different way, it's sometimes hard to decide what to believe. Like you, I believe that the only agenda that matters belongs to someone far above my pay grade.
