Personally, I liked the patina of the old one.    Sort of reminded me of the back of a turtle.  Dee

As Dee and the rest can tell you, I have to re-finish our deck this summer.  Please give me some of the details of this stuff you used.  does it fill in cracks and nail holes?  Does it form a pretty solid base that is textured. 

# 1 question is...Is it easy to apply?

It's not bad Jack, just takes some time.  I used a roller to apply the first coat but went back with a thicker roller for the second coat.  Now there were some very large chunks in this deck so I filled them in with wood putty  then coated over them with the Bear deck-over. The guy at Home Depot said it works better than the Restore brand so I took his word and it did
