Sandmans Buckboard Bacon for Lunch
« Reply #-1 on: July 15, 2013, 01:11:10 PM »
July 15 2013

I have to thank Sandman for my lunch today; his buckboard bacon for a bacon and tomato sandwich.  He’s so busy with the carry out and catering he doesn’t get a lot of posting done. I thought since he was so good giving me some of his bacon I would show it off for him. He said he did a Tender Quick cure and smoked it 5 hours on his Traeger.

I toasted the bun and had a little mustard on it.

That sure looks good.  I like to eat tomato and mayo sandwiches (without the B or the L), so I won't hold skipping the lettuce against you.

:o I like the same sandwich with a slice of sweet onion and some salt and pepper - light on the mayo.  ;)

I know most have BLT's  ;D I change up sometimes and skip the lettuce, sometimes have lettuce and onion, sometimes have bacon only, sometimes have mayo but prefer mustard! It's all good as long as there's bacon!  8) Don

Cottage bacon is usually made from the shoulder and buckboard from the butt. Don

You could wrap bacon around a potato chip, smoke it and it would taste awesome ;D
