Oktoberfest in Leavenworth, WA this past weekend
« Reply #-1 on: October 14, 2013, 01:12:33 AM »
My sweetie and I met another couple for camping and enjoying Oktoberfest in a well-known town for this particular holiday.  Took lots of photos (over 300), and here are a few:

Our camsite was deep in the woods - had a great view out the back of the trailer

First morning we had breakfast at our friends trailer - with Champagne of course  ;D

In to town for the parade - we unfortunately missed the first half because we were in a cheese shop and hadn't realized the parade had started

My sweetie with a stein, and smoked turkey leg.  This was probably the best turkey leg I've ever eaten in my life - smoky and succulent - we found out this was previously smoked and frozen food service product!  I've got to try to make these smoking in the Bradley, then finishing in the SRG.

A couple of performers - there was entertainment, food, and beer all day

That looks like a fun weekend.  Next year I might have to drive up for that and do some camping.

Dang PZ I really forgot how awesome this festival was in Leavenworth. I am originally from
the Central Washington area and it is quite a celebration.  2003 was the last year we went
as we moved to the sunny south!

Looked like a lot of fun. Germans really know how to party.
